Prepare for Adventure: Six Flags Magic Mountain's Thrill Glider
Imagine soaring through the air, arms outstretched, as you zip along a twisting, turning track at 50 mph. Six Flags Magic Mountain is set to make that dream a reality with the introduction of the Thrill Glider, a one-of-a-kind roller coaster that merges the excitement of flying, motorbiking, and thrilling inversions. Slated to open in 2027, this attraction promises to be a game-changer in amusement park experiences.
A First in Thrill Technology
The Thrill Glider, created by acclaimed manufacturer Vekoma, is not your average roller coaster. Riders will experience an exhilarating journey while seated upright in individual "hovercycles" that rotate to a prone position, placing them beneath the track as they encourage the sensation of flight. This innovative design is reminiscent of Disney’s TRON Lightcycle / Run; however, unlike TRON, the Thrill Glider features five inversions and twelve airtime moments bound to elevate adrenaline levels!
What to Expect on Your Ride
This 3,380-foot coaster will launch riders into thrilling heights of up to 107 feet, promising a heart-pounding ride time of about 80 seconds. With multiple launches that will leave you breathless and an immersive sci-fi theme, it's clear that the Thrill Glider is set to be not just an attraction but a spectacular experience. In fact, it aims to set world records for height, speed, and track length within its new category of "Thrillglider" coasters.
A Family-Friendly Thrill for Everyone
Ideal for families and thrill-seekers alike, the ride will have a minimum height requirement of 48 inches, making it accessible for older kids and adventurous parents. The introduction of this coaster adds to the park’s lineup, which already includes legends like Tatsu and the recreated Looney Tunes Land, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
Mark Your Calendars
As construction progresses at its location near the former Golden Bear Theatre, we invite you to prepare for an unforgettable adventure. The Thrill Glider serves as a landmark project in Magic Mountain's ongoing commitment to providing unique and engaging experiences for visitors. Exciting times are ahead at Six Flags, and you won’t want to miss out on being one of the first to ride!
